Corona virus separates 'parking' from aeroplane from affected countries
The government has urged stakeholders to be vigilant about the potential risks to the tourism sector due to the corona virus spread to some parts of neighboring China. In a discussion with stakeholders at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation today, Minister Yogesh Bhattarai urged them to take high precautions even though there was not much panic about the virus. The government said it was preparing to prevent the outbreak of the virus. "All stakeholders should take high precautions to prevent the Corona virus from spreading in Nepal, and the government is ready to control the spread of infection," he said.
He said that a health desk was established at Tribhuvan International Airport to check the health of the tourists entering the airspace in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population and adequate health precautions were taken so that the staff at the airport did not get infected. "We have provided masks, gloves and protective materials to all staff at the airport to prevent infection," he said.
He said neighboring China's role in promoting Nepal's tourism is very important, adding that the tourists coming from that country were kept on high alert. He informed that according to the World Health Organization, 'parking' was arranged separately at the airport for ships coming from the virus affected countries.
Stressing that the virus should be transmitted, the stakeholders also stressed the need for high alertness in the private sector, he said. The government has made arrangements for treatment of corona affected people at Shukraj Raj Tropical and Infectious Diseases Hospital in Teku in Kathmandu Valley. It is said that arrangements will be made to treat it in different hospitals in all seven provinces.
Department and Board 'focal point'
The Ministry has assigned the tourism department and Nepal Tourism Board the focal point on the virus. Departments and boards will work in coordination with the concerned bodies. "If the visitor is noticed during the visit year, the department and board officials should coordinate with the concerned area," Minister Bhattarai said, "work in coordination, exchange information with stakeholders."
The representatives of the private sector participating in the discussion emphasized the need to take high vigilance regarding the virus, but not to make unnecessary guesswork that could affect the visit year. Private sector professionals including the Traveling Agencies Association of Nepal (TAN), Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN), Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agencies (NATA) were involved.

सरकारले छिमेकी मुलुक चीनका केही क्षेत्रमा फैलिएको कोरोना भाइसरका कारण पर्यटन क्षेत्रमा पर्न सक्ने सम्भावित जोखिमबारे उच्च सतर्कता अपनाउन सरोकारवालालाई आग्रह गरेको छ । संस्कृति, पर्यटन तथा नागरिक उड्डयन मन्त्रालयमा आज सरोकारवालासँगको छलफलमा मन्त्री योगेश भट्टराईले भाइसरबारे धेरै आत्तिनुपर्ने अवस्था नभए पनि उच्च सावधानी अपनाउन आग्रह गरे । भाइरसको प्रकोपलाई फैलन नदिन सरकारले तयारी गरिरहेको जानकारी दिए । “कोरोना भाइसर नेपालमा फैलन नदिन सबै सरोकारवालाले उच्च सतर्कता अपनाऔँ, सङ्क्रमण बढेको अवस्थामा नियन्त्रण गर्न सरकार तयार छ”, उनले भने ।
स्वास्थ्य तथा जनसङ्ख्या मन्त्रालयको समन्वयमा हवाई मार्गबाट भित्रने पर्यटकको स्वास्थ्य परीक्षणका गर्न त्रिभुवन अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विमानस्थलमा ‘हेल्थ डेस्क’ स्थापना गरिएको र विमानस्थलमा कार्यरत कर्मचारीमा सङ्क्रमण नहोस् भनेर पर्याप्त स्वास्थ्य सावधानी अपनाइएको बताए । “हामीले सङ्क्रमण नसरोस् भनेर विमानस्थलका सम्पूर्ण कर्मचारीलाई मास्क, पन्जालगायत सुरक्षात्मक सामग्री उपलब्ध गराएका छौँ”, उनले भने ।
नेपालको पर्यटन प्रवद्र्धनमा छिमेकी चीनको भूमिका अत्यन्त महत्वपूर्ण छ भन्दै उनले सो मुलुकबाट आउने पर्यटकलाई उच्च निगरानीमा राखिएको उनले बताए । विश्व स्वास्थ्य सङ्गठनको मान्यताअनुसार भाइरस प्रभावित मुलुकबाट आउने जहाजलाई विमानस्थलमा अलग्गै ‘पार्किङ’को व्यवस्था मिलाइएको उनले जानकारी दिए ।
भाइरसको सङ्क्रमण फैलन नदिन सरोकारवालाले पनि उच्च सतर्कता अपनाउनुपर्नेमा जोड दिँदै उनले भने, “यसलाई रोक्न निजी क्षेत्रको सक्रियता आवश्यक छ ।” मन्त्री भट्टराईले लुम्बिनी, पशुपति, ठमेल, सौराहलगायत पर्यटकको उच्च चाप हुने क्षेत्रमा अङ्ग्रेजी तथा चिनियाँ भाषामा सचेतनात्मक व्यानर टाँस्न आग्रह गरे । सरकारले काठमाडौँ उपत्यकामा कोरोना प्रभावितको उपचार टेकुस्थित शुक्रराज ट्रपिकल तथा सरुवा रोग अस्पतालमा गर्ने व्यवस्था मिलाएको छ । आवश्यकतानुसार सातै प्रदेशका विभिन्न अस्पतालमा यसको उपचार गर्ने व्यवस्था मिलाइने जनाइएको छ ।
विभाग र बोर्ड ‘फोकल पोइन्ट’
मन्त्रालयले पर्यटन विभाग र नेपाल पर्यटन बोर्डलाई भाइरससम्बन्धी फोकल पोइन्ट तोकेको छ । विभाग र बोर्डले सरोकारवाला निकायसँग समन्वय गर्ने गरी काम गर्नेछन् । “भ्रमण वर्षमा आएका पाहुनामा यससम्बन्धी लक्ष्यण देखियो भने विभाग र बोर्डका अधिकारीले सम्बन्धित क्षेत्रसँग समन्वय गर्नुहोला”, मन्त्री भट्टराईले भने, “समन्वय गरेर काम गर्नू, सरोकारवालासँग सूचना आदानप्रदान गर्नु ।”
छलफलमा सहभागी निजी क्षेत्रका प्रतिनिधिले भाइसरबारे उच्च सतर्कता अपनाउनु जरुरी भए पनि अनावश्यक अड्कलबाजी गरेर भ्रमण वर्षलाई प्रभावित बनाउने काम गर्न नहुनेमा जोड दिएको थियो । ट्रेकिङ एजेन्सिज एसोसियसन अफ नेपाल (टान), होटल एसोसियन अफ नेपाल (हान), नेपाल एशोसिएशन अफ टुर एण्ड ट्राभल एजेन्स (नाटा) लगायत निजी क्षेत्रका व्यवसायीको सहभागिता थियो ।
