In China, the number of people infected with the corona virus has crossed 100. 17 people have died. All flights and trains departing from Wuhan City have been closed since Thursday, according to the South China Morning Post. Citizens are barred from leaving the house without cause. World Health Organization (WHO) chief Tedrus Adenham Gabrieus said Wednesday that the issue is being considered a global threat to the world.
The WHO chief said China would curb the outbreak of the virus in its country and also reduce the risk of spreading internationally to the WHO chief. Thousands of citizens in China are infected with the virus. The first case of the Corona virus was found on December 31 in the city of Wuhan.
Corona virus is considered dangerous because of its resemblance to SARS (Civil Acute Respiratory Syndrome). The SARS virus killed about 650 people in China and Hong Kong in 2002–2003. Corona is also classified as a sars virus. There are measures to prevent it, but the source of the virus has not yet been discovered.
This week, millions of people will flock to China to celebrate the New Year. In view of this, the National Health Commission is examining people at airports, bus stations and trains. In major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Chongqing, as well as cases of coronary infection have been found in northeast, central and south China. In Japan, Macau, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the United States, cases of infection have also been found.
Thermal scanning is taking place at five US airports. The airport from London to Moscow is also under investigation. WHO has confirmed the outbreak when the affected person came in contact. The virus is believed to have spread from the animal but has not been confirmed. Gao Fu, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of China, said the virus was spread from the point of sale of wild animals.
Scientists in Hong Kong and the UK estimate that between 200 and 800 infected in Wuhan city alone. Health workers have urged citizens to wash their hands regularly, to avoid crowded areas, to get fresh air and to wear masks if they have coughs. It is said to go to the hospital if there is a cough or fever. Local government has canceled important public activity. The Women's Olympic Football Selection Contest, to be held on February 3–9, has been transferred to the eastern city of Nanjing.

यसबारे इपिडिमियोलोजी तथा रोग नियन्त्रण महाशाखाले सघन निगरानी तथा विस्तृत अध्ययन गरिरहेको मन्त्रालयले जनाएको छ ।
‘बिरामीका नजिकको सम्पर्कमा आएको हुन सक्नेहरुको खोजी गरी पहिचान र परीक्षणको काम हुँदैछ’ मन्त्रालयको विज्ञप्तिमा भनिएको छ ‘यसबारे अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय स्वास्थ्य नियमावलीका प्रावधानअनुसार विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठनलाई चाँडै विस्तृत परिवतरणसहित जानकारी गराइँदैछ ।
